I would go for anything with a sail. The other half doesnt like the heeling and I cant afford a Gemini or Lagoon. She thinks sailing is too much work and it is on a lake but not on an open ocean.Ill lose the battle but win the war when we get a liveaboard. That was a battle too

This is the model we are considering. Its not a sailbooat but its not slumming it either. Most models are priced around 50k with a broker. They are roomy I have to admit.

Ok so why not a sailboat? Much cheaper to operate in the long run. Can go great distances on very little fuel. Think ocean crossings!
And they are cool. Way cooler then a twin engine gas hog.

I guess everyone has there own reasons for there choice of boats.

I personally like the economy of world cruising in a sailboat. I like the tiny carbon footprint. Love the lifestyle.

I used to think I wanted a big cruiser to make fishing easier. But I fish just fine off the back of a sail boat.
Last time I chartered in the BVI we had out a four line spread with rods and a hand line with a streamer set.
Cant do much more than that on any boat.

:( She was sporting enough to try the sailing thing but the leaning bothers her and the small confines of a monohull that I can afford. So Ill give some to get some. She still is willing to try living aboard part-time and I get a fishing/diving boat which is actually ideal for my afflictions.I will have to settle on a Hobie Advenure Island for the sailing fix.30 years this April we have been married.Give a little get a little seems to work. She has no issues with another Harley so theres that too!I think she is cute so that may have an effect on my judgement. 8-)

Mike my comment was not meant as a criticism.
Simply and acknowledgement of reality. If momma ain't happy No bodies gonna be happy.
It's a rare women indeed who will liveaboard anything smaller than a cruise ship.
Mine gave it try but I dropped my end of the log.
Be smarter than me ;)
